Details ID: Wastewater Treatment Plant 2022 Bond Improvements Estimate: Type: Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements Owner: City of Port Neches, Texas Location Jefferson County, TX Map Code: Show Google Map Open Map On Google No Map Scope SCOPE OF WORK City of Port Neches Jefferson County, Texas Wastewater Treatment Plant 2022 Bond Improvements GENERAL It is the intent and purpose of these contract documents to provide for improvements to the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at 6499 Georgia Street, Groves, Texas 77619. CONTRACTOR TO PERFORM ALL WORK AS INDICATED. This project will be locally funded by the City. This contract shall provide for the necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, electrical, controls, and all other related construction for the proposed project. SUMMARY OF WORK BASE BID Sludge Building - remove & salvage the existing centrifuge, remove existing concrete pedestal supports and chain wall support, remove existing piping and concrete pipe stands,
remove the existing polymer tank and polymer feed pump & equipment, remove the existing temporary piping and electrical power to the existing portable belt press, and construct proposed sidewalk on front side of building. Belt Press - install the Phoenix Process Equipment 1.7 Meter Belt Press Unit, furnished by the Owner, complete in place, including: Offload new belt press unit and move into Sludge Building Anchor new belt press unit in place, including air compressor, water booster pump, and control panel Furnish & install 4” Schedule 80 PVC drain piping and “Fernco” adapters from the belt press unit drain pans, 4 places, to the existing floor drain under the unit Furnish & install 2” Schedule 80 PVC water pipe from the existing water line to the water booster pump, and from the pump to the belt press unit Furnish & install water pressure switch between water booster pump and belt press unit, Allen-Bradley Model 836T-T253J pressure switch or approved equivalent Furnish & install 1⁄4” nylon air tubing, rated for 125 PSI minimum operating pressure, from the air compressor to the belt press unit Coordinate with, assist belt press manufacturer with start-up Sludge Piping - install proposed sludge piping, fittings, and valves, complete in place, including: Furnish & install 8” D.I. flanged spool pieces Furnish & install 8” D.I. flanged 90 o bends Install 4” mixing valve, furnished with the belt press unit Furnish & install 8” pipe stands Steel Platforms and Access Stairs - Furnish and install proposed steel platforms and access stairs at proposed Belt Press, including 6" concrete curb. Polymer Equipment - Furnish and install proposed polymer equipment, including all metering pumps, mixers, tanks, chemical piping, fittings and valves, all electrical and controls, for a complete and operational system. Electrical - Furnish and install electrical improvements at the sludge building for the proposed belt press and polymer equipment, including all conduits and conductors, relocating the existing starter and installing the new belt press control panel on a new steel rack, and demo of existing equipment. Stormwater Clarifier Rehabilitation – rehabilitate the existing stormwater clarifiers, including draining and removing sludge/grit, and removal and replacement of the launders and weirs. ADDITIVE BID ITEMS Secondary Trickling Filter No. 2 & No. 3 - rehabilitate the existing trickling filters, including draining, cleaning/removing debris, and removing and replacing crushed media blocks. Primary & Final Clarifiers - clean the existing launder/weirs and re-level the existing weirs in each clarifier. Proposed Concrete Slab & Canopy - construct a new concrete slab and canopy adjacent to the sludge building, including removal of the existing slab and canopy, remove and re-install existing platform & ladder, providing temporary support under the sludge conveyor during construction, construct new reinforced concrete slab and walls, furnish and erect new pre-engineered canopy. Electric Winch - Furnish & install new 3 Hp electric winch including modifications and connections to existing electrical. SPECIAL CONDITIONS Contractor shall schedule and coordinate work so that plant is operational at all times. Contractor shall remove one unit at a time for work for each portion of treatment process (i.e. one pump at a time, one basin at a time, one blower at a time). All work must be complete and operational on each unit prior to returning to service and removing other unit for rehabilitation. Contractor shall be required to coordinate work in treatment units with plant personnel during construction. Coordinate the shutdown or closure of all valves and units with the City prior to work being performed in these areas. Contractor shall work in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation of the treatment process in the plant. Contractor to coordinate work schedule with the City and access to the WWTP site. If work requires special hours (i.e. weekends, night time, etc.) coordinate with WWTP in advance of work to allow City adequate time for staff requirements. Contractor is to coordinate salvaging of existing equipment (centrifuge, control panels, etc.) designated for removal on the project with the City. Items that are not designated by the City for salvage shall become the responsibility of the Contractor for removal from the site and disposal.
