Salisbury, North Carolina 28146 INVITATION TO BID Sealed bids for construction of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, North Campus Building N101 HVAC Upgrades Phase I will be received via email until, but no later than 3:00 pm, local prevailing time, September 16, 2021 and then publicly opened and read immediately thereafter via ZOOM. Bidders are encouraged to view the bid opening in real time via a ZOOM link that follows. Bidders shall be licensed mechanical contractors in North Carolina HUB certified contractors are encouraged to submit a bid for this project. Bids received after the announced time and date for submittal will be rejected. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated. The building’s last major renovation occurred in 2014. The existing HVAC equipment, as indicated in project documents, is at the end of its statistical life expectancy and has become maintenance intensive. The College is requesting a cost to remove several existing mezzanine units (refer to plans) and replace with a single unit. As part of this project, the contractor will be expected to modify electrical service and integrate the new units to the existing building automation system. Contractor is responsible for visiting the site prior to bidding. Bids shall be based all necessary mater ials and labor to provide a complete and functional system. The Owner is interested in completing this work as quickly as possible. The bid form includes a line for lead time estimates as this will impact the selected alternates. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The building is served by several chilled/hot water constant volume HVAC units, each with wall mount thermostat and humidistat and most of which are dedicated to a single zone inside the building. The College has found the equipment to be oversized for the current building use and over cycling. This is Phase I. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Contractor shall refer to plans for details. The contractor shall be responsible for coordinating the removal and replacement of all listed rooftop units as well as modifications to ductwork, electrical service and control integration. Once installed, the equipment shall be air balance and performance tested by a NEBB certified TAB agent; reports indicating airflow test, coil performance and details shall be provided for review by Owner prior to closeout.
