The Center for Hypersonics and Entry Systems Studies (CHESS) at the University of Illinois is seeking the procurement of inductively coupled plasma (ICP) wind tunnel for testing of thermal protection systems materials under extreme conditions that simulate reactive hypersonic environments. A vendor is sought for the design construction and commissioning of the full wind tunnel systems, including plasma source, test chamber, probe and materials displacement system, instrumentation, and control system. The wind tunnel must be capable of producing a dynamically stable (i.e., free of fluctuations) high enthalpy plasma jet of multiple gas mixtures and operate continuously for extended periods of time. There is no BEP goal for this procurement. The University reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses or parts thereof. Illinois Department of Human Rights(IDHR) eligibility number is required on all proposals, if applicable. This procurement may be contingent on Board of Trustees approval. Vendor may expect payment thirty to sixty days after receipt of invoice, unless otherwise stated in the bid documents. The contract(s) for this solicitation could exceed $50,000
