The selected qualified Consultant shall provide concise education and outreach material for the City of Palmdale and shall have the experience pertaining to the creation of print, digital, video, and radio material. The City has an exclusive franchise with Waste Management (WM) to haul all municipal solid waste, recyclables, organics, and construction & demolition waste. The City provides a 3-stream collection system for garbage, recycling, and organics. Other Details What is SB 1383? SB 1383 serves as a statewide effort to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants and sets the following targets: 1. Reduce statewide disposal of organic waste by 50% by January 1, 2020 and by 75% by January 1, 2025. 2. Recover at least 20% of currently disposed edible food for human consumption by 2025. The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) created regulatory standards for SB 1383.
