Deputy Clerk / Office Assistant Village of Mount Horeb, WI The Village of Mount Horeb, an innovative and progressive local government organization, is in search of an experienced professional to join our team as a Deputy Clerk / Office Assistant. Candidates must have a positive attitude, be customer service focused and highly skilled at a wide array of administrative functions. Essential tasks for this position include processing bi-weekly payroll, taking minutes at committee/board meetings, knowledge of Accounts Payable function, welcoming and assisting the public with issues related to property taxes, pet licensing, and utility payments. This position also assists the Village Clerk in conducting elections and is the back-up for all Village Clerk duties. Typical hours for this position are 7:00am-4:30pm (Monday – Thursday) and 7:00am-Noon (Friday). Occasionally there are after hours requirements due to meetings or elections. Successful candidates will have a minimum three years of
public contact experience; Wisconsin Municipal Clerk Certification within four years after hire; Associate’s Degree preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job. The Village of Mount Horeb offers a competitive wage and benefits package. The wage for this full-time position is dependent upon qualifications, with minimum of $20/hr starting wage.
