South Seattle Community Food Hub Website Development RFP The South Seattle Community Food Hub (SSCFH) intends to address food insecurity and systemic gaps in the local food system, with an emphasis on advancing racial equity and community-led solutions that prioritize the needs and assets of local growers and hunger relief organizations. The SSCFH seeks a website developer to design and build an initial website incorporating the following objectives, audiences, and key functionalities. SCOPE OF WORK Create a website for the start-up SSCFH on Word Press using no-cost templates and no- or low-cost plug-ins as needed, with the ability to be built upon in the future. Research and make recommendations to SSCFH for site hosting. Create website documentation and training materials to support SSCFH staff and volunteers to manage day-to-day aspects of updating site. OBJECTIVES Modern visual look that will incorporate/help establish agency branding. User-friendly navigation for audiences with
different skill levels. Mobile-responsive and adhering to accessibility standards, including language access. AUDIENCES Community operational partners, potential partners, and funders of the SSCFH. Food system stakeholders including food access organizations, hunger relief organizations, growers, producers, and consumers. Community members/general public interested in equitable food movement. Current and prospective donors, volunteers, and staff. KEY FUNCTIONALITIES Present in compelling visual format case for support of the SSCFH including project mission and vision, history and progress updates, and leadership team. User friendly way for the site to be viewed in different languages. Document library to host/share key project documents. Capacity to add a fundraising component to the site at a future date. Form for people to express interest in partnering with the hub as vendors, volunteers, etc. News feed to feature media stories. Usability testing prior to going live. Ongoing support and maintenance plan options (work not included in this initial budget) PROJECT TIMELINE RFP released: May 25th RFP submissions due: June 22nd Review of proposals and interview finalists completed by: July 12th Selected vendor will be notified by: July 17th Project begins: July 24th* Target date for project completion: September 1st* *Final date to be negotiated. REQUIREMENTS Ideal candidate has experience designing websites for grassroots nonprofit organizations. Please include in proposal: Budget, estimated hours and hourly rates for those involved in the project. Previous website project examples, portfolio links, and client references.
