The Transportation Disadvantaged paratransit services ensures that individuals who are certified “Transportation Disadvantaged” have access to public transportation. Transportation Disadvantaged persons are persons who because of physical or mental disability, income status, or age are unable to transport themselves or to purchase transportation and are, therefore, dependent upon others to obtain access to health care, employment, education, shopping, social activities, and other life-sustaining activities, or to children who are handicapped, high-risk or at- risk, (Services are available after an application process to determine need of the service or qualification for the program.
