THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY.The US Army Engineer District, Alaska is conducting market research to facilitate and determine an acquisition strategy for Project Title: FTW479 – Roofing and Fire protection Repair B3030. Location: Fairbanks, Alaska 99712. The determination of acquisition strategy for this acquisition lies solely with the government and will be based on this market research and information available to the government from other sources. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, is conducting this market research to identify businesses which have the capability to perform the following work:The selected contractor will structurally evaluate and repair the roof of an existing warehouse on Fort Wainwright which is a facility that is partially noncompliant with present Army standards.The facility should be compatible with applicable DoD, Army, and base design standards. Building 3030 was originally built in 1954 with a footprint that has subsequently
grown eastward in stages. B3030 is currently a five-bay warehouse with three bays at 47,000 SF each and two bays at 43,000 SF each. This project will primarily be a structural evaluation and repair of the roof, other than possible temporary relocations/flush/replacement of sprinkler piping and/or electrical conduit. A structural engineer shall evaluate the existing structural roof capacity. All damaged roof sections shall be repaired. All sections that have deficient capacity shall be upgraded to establish uniformity of design loads in accordance with the most current code compliant snow load requirements.A fire protection engineer shall evaluate the existing sprinkler system and fire alarm to determine any deficiencies giver current layout use. This project does not require any items to be altered or upgraded, only the evaluation report. Disturbed sprinkler system and piping that is discovered to be corroded or damaged during structural repair or upgrades shall be replaced as required.Design and construct structural upgrades to the existing roof framing per the recommendations in the Structural Capacity Evaluation Report. Design for minimal impact to the existing exterior envelope and interior finishes including existing fire sprinkler system piping and design repairs where areas are damaged or demolished to install the structural upgrades.The Contractor and DOR shall evaluate and design upgrades based on original building construction eras and also consider phasing to maximize building availability and utilization during construction and in coordination with building user representatives.THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. The small business size standard for this NAICS Code is $39.5 Million.THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT FOR QUALIFIED PRIME CONTRACTOR FIRMS ONLY. All interested firms are encouraged to respond to this announcement no later than 15 February 2023 2:00 PM AST, by submitting all requested documentation listed below to: mark.d.milligan@usace.army.mil and theresa.m.afrank@usace.army.mil.Interested firms should submit a capabilities package (not exceeding 5 pages) demonstrating the ability to perform work listed above.Packages should include the following information:(1) Business name, Cage Code, point of contact, phone number, e-mail address, and business size under NAICS 236220.(2) Offeror’s type of business and business size (whether large business, small business, HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business, 8(a)).(3) Demonstration of the firm's experience as a prime contractor on projects of similar size, type and complexity within the past six (6) years. List actual projects completed and include project title and location, a brief description of the project to include dollar amount of the project, work that was self-performed, and customer satisfaction.(4) Provide firm's single project, and aggregate bonding limit and information on the organizational and financial resources available to perform the required work.(5) Offerors interest in proposing on the solicitation when issued.(6) Offerors Joint Venture information, if applicable, existing and potential.Responsible sources demonstrating relevant experience and the capabilities to perform the work will be considered.
