Range 55 East, Sections 1,12 and 13REQUESTED ACTIVITY: For commercial, day use ATV tours in the Haines State Forest and Flower Mountain Special Use Designation area. Up to 14 ATVs that can seat up to 4 persons per ATV, would be guided through existing gravel roads inside the forest. The ATVs would weigh no more than 1,600 lbs. There will be no more than 9 trips per day, and the operations would coincide with the Haines tourist season, May 1 – October 31. Facilities for parking, vehicle refueling, trash, and vehicle and equipment storage would be located on private land.PROPOSED DATES OF USE: End: June 20, 2026DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 17, 2024 The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above.
