NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCEINTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order to Politico Pro, 1000 Wilson Blvd., 8th Floor, Arlington, VA  22209. This justification for sole source contracting is to purchase a yearly subscription renewal service to support the need to closely monitor and review Congressional legislative and policy news relating to the Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, Marketplace, and ACA programs and initiatives, and assess its impact towards beneficiaries and other healthcare stakeholders. It helps CMS’ Office of the Administrator (OA), the Office of Legislation (OL), the Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA), and MRG stay apprised of what is happening on Capitol Hill with information being delivered in real-time.      CMS REQUIREMENTS:  Politico is a subscription service that is available through 24-hour internet access thus permitting CMS

components to monitor healthcare news, Presidential and Congressional events, publicized information, party-political news, and politically sensitive news. This service allows 55 licensed CMS users to receive up-to-the-minute news and information for responding to Hill inquiries, fulfilling correspondence requests, and improving messaging for established initiatives and programs. Also, as communication strategy and media information is being developed for initiatives and programs, and then, rolled out to reporters and the public, the Agency can better monitor instant news generated, its sentiment, and anticipate the need for providing rapid responses.  This instantaneous news resource is not available through the CMS library. NAICS CODES: The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 511110 (Newspaper Publishers).INTERESTED PARTIES: All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. In order to qualify as a potential contractor for this procurement, the organization must provide valid, reliable and standardized health care performance measures to support and advance public accountability, quality improvement efforts, increased patient safety, and value based purchasing. The organization must be able to serve as a national dissemination and implementation conference for health disparities researchers.
