LEGAL NOTICE Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Public Service-Safety of the City of Lancaster, State of Ohio, at the office of said Director until 11:00 A.M. on the 11th day of May, 2020 for up to a  seven (7) year contract to haul and dispose of municipal solid waste which are initially hauled by the City of Lancaster’s Sanitation Department to the City of Lancaster, Sanitation Department’s Transfer Station, located at 743 South Ewing Street, Lancaster, Ohio.  The successful bidder shall haul said waste from the Transfer Station and dispose of it at a fully licensed solid waste landfill in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.  BIDS MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE AS FOLLOWS:   CITY OF LANCASTER MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE HAULING CONTRACT. Lancaster website www.ci.lancaster.oh.us/bids.aspx or by contacting the Sanitation Department, (740) 687-6660.  [Insert name and addresses of locations where Contract Documents may be reviewed.] Due to Governor DeWine’s declaration of emergency and current Ohio Department of Health orders regarding COVID-19, in-person viewing of Bid Documents is not available. However, all bid documents will be posted on the City of Lancaster website listed above. Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in said bid and must be accompanied by a bond or certified check drawn on a solvent bank in the sum of TEN (10%) percent of the total bid amount, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and a Certificate of Insurance for the minimum amount of $5,000,000.00 (five million dollars) for general, automobile and excess liability, and shall provide a performance bond or an irrevocable letter of credit for the minimum of ONE HUNDRED (100%) percent of the highest annual contract price. Bidders must comply with the bid bond and performance bond requirements fully set forth in Section C(2) of the Bid Documents.   Should any bid be rejected, such check will be forthwith returned to the bidder.  Should any bid be accepted, such check will be returned upon the execution and securing of the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, if it determines that the citizens would be better served by doing so.
