The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Nikon Instruments Inc.The National Institutes of Health intends to procure a High Definition Resonant Scanning Confocal upgrade (A1R-HD). The laboratory is upgrading an existing A1R confocal microscope with parts that allow for better resolution and faster speed. The HD upgrade consists of new software and new digitizer for the detector to improve both clarity and resolution of the images. It is used with the Lambda S_100X objective to produce the best quality images. See attached Sole Source Justification and Brand Name Justification for further details.ResponsesThe proposed acquisition action is for items and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b).
