Added:Aug 30, 2019 4:06 pm The intent of this effort is to perform sampling and analysis of legacy piles of waste soil and concrete located at multiple areas at Beale Air Force Base (AFB), California. In this effort, waste soils and concrete shall be assessed to ensure that regulated chemical contaminants are not above regulatory limits.Waste soil and concrete piles are located at several locations on Beale AFB. 9 CES Engineering will assist to determine locations and amounts of soil and concrete to be assessed. The waste soil and concrete piles have historically been created as a result of various construction and demolition projects at Beale AFB.The majority of the waste soil and concrete piles on Beale AFB have not been characterized to determine if contamination issues are present. Waste soil and concrete piles created from historical construction and demolition of military areas and facilities are at a higher risk of containing regulated contaminants. Therefore, contamination issues are suspected for many of the waste soil and concrete piles.Waste soil and concrete will be assessed according to standards and recommendations from United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) and California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). This work plan will compile sampling results in order to prepare a comprehensive strategy for the reuse or removal of waste soil piles from Beale AFB.See attached statement of work for more
