Bus Shelter Art Panels The City of Arlington is seeking proposals from local artists for art panels to be installed in new bus shelters that will be placed on 204 th Street in the Kent Prairie neighborhood of Arlington, in cooperation with Community Transit.The City has a public art fund to support this project.We are seeking art that portrays Arlington’s history of agriculture, which was prevalent in the Kent Prairie area. We are seeking metal art to be placed in the bottom section of two bus shelters. Dimensions: Sides-18.5 inches wide by 39.5 inches tall (2 pieces) Back- 42.5 inches wide by 39.5 inches tall (2 pieces)Total budget is $10,000 for art for 2 shelters. The budget includes design, all materials, labor, installation, and tax. Applicant should describe which elements they can supply and at what cost.Material: Art must be constructed of metal and durable and vandal resistant. Examples: Cut metal art, powder coated metal art, art/photography printed on metal, art etched in metal.Proposals:Interested parties should submit a letter of interest, samples of work, proposal and fee. The City will select from proposals and may select more than one, or none.
