: FURNISH AND DELIVER AN APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS QUANT STUDIO PCR SYSTEM, LAPTOP, AND ACCESSORIES

 The USDA, ARS, NEA, GIFV LAB in Chatsworth NJ intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (i), "Soliciting from a single source" based upon only one responsible source.  The USDA intends to solicit and negotiate with Life Technologies Corporation of Grand Island, NY for a new Applied Biosystems Quant Studio Real-Time PCR System, Laptop, and Accessories.NOTE: FAR 13-106-1(b) (i) "Where a single source is identified to provide a portion of a purchase specifies a particular brand-name item, the document in paragraph (b) (2) (i) of this section only applies to the portion of the purchase requiring the brand-name item.  The documentation should state it is covering only the portion of the acquisition which is brand-name. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal.  However, all inquiries received within 7 days after date of publication of the Limited Sources Justification will be considered by the Government. 

Information may be emailed to the Contracting Officer at lisa.botella@ars.usda.gov.  A determination by the Government not to complete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any resulting procurement would be conducting in accordance with FAR Part 13. NAICS CODE 334516 with a size standard of 1,000 employees   An award notice for Life Technologies Corporation will be posted on the FBO in the near future.This procurement requires the use of biobased products to the extent that such products are reasonably available, meet agency or relevant industry performance standards, and are reasonably priced. Where available, these products should first be acquired from among qualified products that fall under the umbrella of items designated through the Federal Biobased Products Preferred Procurement Program (FB4P).
