Added:May 22, 2018 11:49 am The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, is currently planning a Bluestone Industry Day for Wednesday, June 27, 2018, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at the Hinton City Hall, 2nd Floor, City Council Chambers, 322 Summers Street, Hinton, WV, 25951.The Bluestone Dam is a concrete gravity dam built in 1948. It is now a Mega Dam Safety Project which will require contractor support over the next Phase (Phase 5).At this Industry Day, specific feedback concerning plans to attempt to mine a new tunnel through the dam to connect a new gallery with an existing gallery will be requested.A site visit to inspect the existing gallery will be conducted after the presentation at City Hall.To participate in this site visit, you must have submitted information for SECURITY CLEARANCE. This must be provided two weeks prior to the site visit (NO LATER THAN JUNE 13, 2018). Contact Eileen Hodges for instructions.This work fall under the NAICS Code 237990 for heavy, civil work. Contractors with experience with tunneling in existing concrete dams are invited to attend this event.It is requested that you contact Eileen S.
