The Mequon Police Department consists of 54 staff members and two K-9 Officers that work together to preserve the peace and support the needs of the community.Characteristics of the JobThe Records Clerk provides clerical and office support to the Police Department and Dispatch Center staff and respond to requests for services and information from the general public.Position Overview,
Skills & AbilitiesFulfills open records requests: reports and/or media for citizens and other agencies, establish, maintain, and retrieve as needed records of all police reports and other documents relating to accident and incident reports.Serves as office receptionist and respond to inquiries and requests for a variety of police services; receive and process open records requests to include burning compact discs; brush, hunting, and other permits; collect fines and fees due to the City for parking citations, bicycle licenses etc., and issue receipts.Performs a variety of general clerical duties including, contact person at the lobby window, typing, filing, photocopying, and some inventory maintenance; operate a variety of office equipment including, copier, fax machine, telephones, cash register, perform other duties as assigned.Please click hereto view full job description.Required Training & ExperienceExperience in clerical work and completion of high school with advanced education and training highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.Salary & BenefitsThe starting salary is $41,674 - 49,029 +/- DOQ. Salary range is $41,674 - $56,384.
