Plants are chosen by Valley Water based on suitability for specific site conditions and planting plans are developed with the requirements of each species in mind. The nursery will be required to collect propagules, grow plants at their facility, and maintain and deliver by a specified date. All plants will be grown from native plant material grown from seed, cuttings, or other propagules sourced from Santa Clara County using Best Management Practices (BMPs) as published in the (Guidelines to Minimize Phytophthora Pathogens in Restoration Nurseries” per CalPhytos.
