Request for Qualifications: Advertisement Issue Date: 04/20/2021 Project Name: Special Inspections Services for the Broadway Public Safety Station Project and the Grant Center Expansion Project Bid Number: 298-CP21-F1401-Inspect TO: Prospective Applicants The City of Asheville is soliciting Special Inspections and testing services Consultants to submit a Letter of Interest and qualification packet for Special Inspections and testing services for two construction projects involving a new facility, and a facility expansion. One selection process will be used to select the best qualified firm, but the selected firm will receive a separate contract for each project. These projects consist of: 1. A new three story 21,831 sq. ft., multi-use facility with the working title of the Broadway Public Safety Station, which will house Fire Station #13, a Police Substation, and an Emergency Operations Center, and 2. The Grant Center Expansion which is a gym expansion of 13,116 sq. ft. plus

construction of an outdoor swimming pool. The combined construction cost of these projects is approximately $19,000,000. The City of Asheville has set an annual aspirational MWBE goal of 4.6% for professional services contracts. Although achieving this goal is not a criterion for the award of this Contract, it is expected that documents will reflect that every effort has been made to conduct inclusive outreach to ensure that contractors with existing disparities have an opportunity to participate in contracting with the City of Asheville.
