The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a Single Source with Verogen, Inc., San Diego, CA for the purpose of renewing a Silver Level Support Plan (parts, labor, travel) for an Illumina MiSeq FGx DNA Sequencing System + Data Analysis Server.This is a sole source requirement inasmuch as Verogen, Inc., is the only authorized service provider, designated by the manufacturer, that has certified engineers and OEM parts availability. Furthermore, Illumina maintains that no third party is licensed to provide service for this DNA Sequencing System + Data Analysis Server. A firm fixed-price purchase order to acquire the maintenance support plan will be negotiated and issued on or about 31 Aug 2019 for a 12-month performance period and include (4) 1-yr. option periods. No solicitation package will be issued.This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; however,
interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Inquiries will only be accepted via e-mail to
randy.schroyer@nist.gov. The government will consider responses received by 5:00PM, EST, 5 Aug 2019. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. This Notice of Intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
