Application for Permits to Mine in Alaska (APMA). The meteorological tower would consist of meteorological sensors and a galvanized steel pole no more than 20 ft in height which would be secured with marked guy wires. There would be a 6 ft x 8 ft x 8 ft power system shelter containing the main electrical, datalogging, and communication systems, which would be powered by sealed batteries, solar panels, and a propane generator. The meteorological site would be surrounded by a 6 ft high wildlife deterrent fence and an outer perimeter electrical fence, with the entire footprint expected to be approximately 50 ft x 56 ft. Propane stored on site for the generator would total no more than 400 gallons stored in 100-gallon tanks. The repeater site would consist of a galvanized steel tower or welded steel mast no more than 10 ft high with a mounted side antenna approximately 4 ft long. The tower would be secured with marked guy wires. There would be additional structures including a 6 ft x2 ft x2 ft bear proof cooler housing sealed batteries and a 2 ft x 2ft x 8 in enclosure housing the main electrical, data logging, and communications systems. Power to the station would be supplied through a bank of solar panels. REQUESTED TERM: 5 years
