FY22-23 Add'l 20 M61A2 20mm Gatling Guns

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a modification to the fixed price, sole source contract, N0001922C0023, with General Dynamics-Ordnance and Tactical Systems, Inc. (GD-OTS) for up to an additional twenty (20) M61A2 20mm Gun Systems (Manufacturer Part Number: 10052687) in support of Fiscal Years 2022-2023 F/A-18E/F aircraft production requirements.This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements”. GD-OTS is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for this procurement and is the only qualified manufacturer with an active production line to perform this effort in the time required to meet U.S. Navy Fleet Requirements. GD-OTS is the only qualified manufacturer possessing the required technical knowledge and facilities, including machining, forging, molds, tooling, and special test equipment, to perform the functions required to meet the current and emergent fleet needs.This notice of intent is neither a request for proposal nor a solicitation of offers.
