The Municipal Building currently houses 16 staff and has had to restrict growth due to the lack of available space in the current facility. For planning purposes, the Municipality anticipates 25 full-time staff. The new municipal building would house the council chambers, administrative offices, and offices of the various other departments as well as staff amenities and meeting rooms. Council requires a modern chamber for holding meetings at least twice per month. Council meetings are livestreamed so Council Chambers should provide a good acoustic environment and be equipped for multimedia presentations and recording of Minutes. Associated with the Council Chambers is a Council meeting room. As the public attends Council for presentations, there must be adequate public seating and wheelchair space, including storage for additional chairs in event of a large crowd.
