CDBG - Mortgage Reduction

Dane County is soliciting applications from organizations interested in operating a mortgage reduction program to promote homeownership opportunities for low-and-moderate income residents of the Dane County Urban County Consortium (see Appendix A). Funding is expected to be available under the HUD-funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The County reserves the right to fund this project with Home Investment Partnership (HOME) funds. This change in funding source and its implications will be discussed with prospective Subrecipient(s). Failure to do so may result in the application to become ineligible for funding and may not be scored.BackgroundDane County intends to use the results of this process to make an award to subrecipients of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds. The total amount of CDBG and HOME funding available for 2025 is unknown at this time. It is estimated that Dane County’s annual entitlement for 2025 may have up to $1,000,000 in CDBG and $600,000 in HOME funds that will be disbursed among several CDBG and HOME categories including the Mortgage Reduction category.
