This notice of an intent to sole-source is published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501, "Special Documentation Requirements".Per the attached Justification and Approval (J&A), the United States Coast Guard (USCG) has a need to move three (3) families currently stationed on Base Kodiak. Due to the ongoing construction at Coast Guard facilities in Alaska, these families need to move immediately. There is not adequate time to conduct a full competition among competing vendors. As a result, USCG will award a purchase order valued at roughly $18,000 to Kodiak Transfer Inc. Kodiak Transfer won the previous move contract (which was competed amongst multiple vendors and awarded in September 2016), but that contract expired before these three (3) final moves could commence.Per FAR 5.202(a)(2), due to the information noted above and the attached J&A, there will be no pre-solicitation notice posted to FedBizOpps. This work needs to commence immediately to ensure the safety and security of the affected USCG personnel. There will also be no posted solicitation. While there are no plans for future Base Kodiak moves, the USCG anticipates competing any such future moves amongst multiple vendors.Thank you for your
