Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE:The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Timken Gears & Services Inc. (DBA: Philadelphia Gear), 901 E. 8th Ave Ste 100, King of Prussia, PA, 19406-1354, (Cage Code: 17454) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has submitted a requirement for onsite evaluation and vibration survey/analysis and repair of the Philadelphia Gear gearboxes used in the H53 Main Gearboxes. Market research has determined that Philadelphia Gear is the only source capable of providing the required services. Therefore, the government intends to procure these supplies/services on a sole source basis from Philadelphia Gear. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered.
