The consultant will be required to work cooperatively with the airport to assist the County’s air service development efforts. The consulting agreement may include but is not limited to route analysis, presentation preparation, conference presentation support and airline contract proposals and negotiations.BackgroundThe Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is a primary commercial service non-hub airport located in Volusia County, Florida. Established in 1930, the 2,000-acre facility has served commercial airline traffic for most of this period, except during World War II when the property was transferred to the Federal government and operated as a Naval Air Station.The Airport is owned and operated by Volusia County, Florida. The

peak year for commercial passenger traffic at DAB was 1990 when over 1,000,000 total passengers traveled through the terminal. A 175,000 square foot, six-gate Domestic Terminal was constructed in 1992 and completed a $14 million renovation in 2021.DAB is served by three scheduled airlines: Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and Avelo Airlines. Sun Country Airlines operates a charter service twice a month.
