DPA8 also promotes energy and water conservation, and the reduction of greenhouse gas

emissions. In July 2022 the City of Nanaimo adopted a new Official Community Plan, City Plan: Nanaimo ReImagined. In accordance with the Local Government Act, City Plan provides the justification and objectives for the City’s development permit (DP) areas, as well as the DP map schedules.
