In 2013, the company installed a 500-kilowatt solar farm on the rooftop of the main distribution center in North Carolina to generate over 700,000 kWh of electricity annually. To make buildings and operations even more efficient, the company installed energy efficient lighting and implemented a comprehensive recycling program which resulted in diverting 95% of waste from the landfill. Electric vehicle charging stations at two facility locations provide an incentive for team members to purchase electric or hybrid vehicles.
