Pursuant to Florida Statutes, Chapter 287.055 (Consultants Competitive Negotiations Act) and Tamarac City Code, Section 6-151(2), Professional Services, the City of Tamarac has solicited a Step 1 RFP to find firms with substantial experience and capabilities to complete our Design Build of Caporella Park Enhancements Project. Based on the submissions the City has received, we have created a Step 2 package that outlines all the wants and needs for this project. The City of Tamarac is seeking to engage qualified firms to submit proposals (RFQ’s) for the Design/Build of the Caporella Park Enhancements Project. The proposed project site is approximately a 9.3 acres lot (3.73 acres surface area & 5.57 lakes) located at 5200 Prospect Road, Tamarac, Florida 33321; together with a 1.06 acre parcel located at 2400 NW 53 rd Street, Tamarac, FL. (see site map attached herein as Exhibit 1); for a total project site area of approximately 10.36 acres
(4.79 acres surface area & 5.57 lakes). The proposed elements include native landscaping on at least 30% of the site, an 6 foot concrete multi-use path with one (1) central covered fitness station (with 10 pieces of equipment), an approximate 1000 SF restroom/storage facility, a 5000 SF playground with maximum number of play equipment including safety surface and shade structure, one (1) large picnic shelter (32 feet hexagonal), benches, grills, water fountains, non-motorized boat launch with floating boat dock, 2500 SF splash pad, expansion of existing on-site parking area, irrigation & landscape improvements, lighting, video surveillance and security system, and fiber network infrastructure; and the development of existing off-site parcels located at 2400 NW 53 rd street (City owned parcels, see site map attached herein as Exhibit 1), which shall include a new overflow parking to service proposed park enhancements, with a dedicated Right-of-Way crosswalk and advanced RRFB warning system, security lighting & fencing, pavement markings and signage. Offerors (note: offerors, proposers and contractor are used interchangeably in this document) are requested to provide professional services, labor, equipment, materials, insurance and incidentals for the Design / Build Caporella Park Enhancements Project - Step 2 The information contained in the Design Criteria Package is the minimum that potential proposers must address in their responses to the Request for Proposals. Potential proposers shall consider all applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, best practices regarding design and construction standards, and past professional experience in their responses to the Request for Proposals.
