The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County desires to solicit competitive proposals from responsible vendors to provide professional services for organizing, and planning a celebratory event in honor of Juneteenth, on Saturday June 17, 2023. This event should: (1) be free and open to the public, (2) acknowledge the history of the Juneteenth holiday, (3) educate attendees on the aftermath and ongoing effects of slavery, the 13 th amendment, and reconstruction, and (4) celebrate local BIPOC stories and voices, as well as support local BIPOC business owners and communities. Proposals are due no later than May 8, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. ET. Proposals received after the deadline will NOT be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered for funding.
