This is a special notice prepared for the Automated Test Systems (ATS) Division at Robins AFB, GA and is issued solely for information and planning purposes. The ATS Division is requesting industry feedback on feasibility and ability to implement, as well as general comments on the attached Government Reference Architecture (GRA).The goals of the GRA are to benefit from maximizing component and subsystem reuse, limit non-recurring engineering, and reduce development cost. The use of the GRA will increase commonality across systems, enable improved system interoperability, and reducing development costs by using well defined interfaces and standardized tooling. The GRA will emphasize open architecture design with known open standards. The GRA will encourage use of open software rather than proprietary software solutions. The use of open standards will facilitate future capability upgrades by reducing difficult integration challenges and proprietary interfaces. The use of open standards
will increase competition by allowing more participation. The intent of the GRA is not to stifle creativity, rather to provide Industry with design guidance and constraints. The Government is including a copy of the in-work GRA for Industry to provide comment and feedback. No agreement will be awarded from this announcement.
