Synopsis:This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR 13.501 (a)(1)(ii), under the authority of the Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items.The ACC-APG Tenant Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source supply contract to Sophion Biosciences, 400 Trade Center Drive, Suite 6900, Woburn, MA 01801. The objective of this contract is the acquisition of a Sophion Q-Patch II Automated Patch Clamp device for the US Army CCDC R&T Directorate Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Sophion Q-Patch II Automated Patch Clamp device is an instrument used to measure voltage and currentof single cells through ion channels in an automated fashion. It will be used by CCDC-CBC in order to measure the effects of chemical warfare agents on individual ion channels in real time.Sophion Bioscience Inc is the only company who provides the QPatch II products in North America. There are no 3rd
party vendors who sell the QPatch II in North America. Features Unique only to Sophion Bioscience QPatch II are: QPatch II 16 is the only fully automated 16 channel system on the market. For voltage-gated ion channels the 100% series resistance compensation is essential for good quality recordings. Sophion Bioscience has the exclusive license to the Alembic 100% fast series resistance compensation. (Ref: Sophion sole source memorandum dated July 1, 2019).The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334516. Posting date of this requirement is July 3, 2019. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, August 2, 2019.
