In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy Section 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract on a single source basis for name-brand “Extreme Networksâ€� Air Defense Motorola Wireless support and maintenance. The FAA has a requirement to procure the renewal of annual support and maintenance required for Extreme Networks Air Defense Motorola Wireless Intrusion Detection Sensors (WIDS) deployed within the FAA enterprise. Extreme Networks is the only known manufacturer capable of meeting the FAAâ€TMs specific requirement for this type of support and maintenance to be used specifically with the Motorola WIDS. Accordingly, the FAA has identified authorized resellers/distributors and as such will conduct a limited competition specifically for Extreme Networks Air Defense Motorola Wireless Licensing, Maintenance, and Support, and only among the authorized resellers. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement.
