Pre-Solicitation Notice: Improved Point Detection SystemPre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract.  This is not a solicitation. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD), Contracts Department, Code 02 intends to award a sole source contract for the purchase of Improved Point Detection Systems Life-Cycle Replacement (IPDS-LR) and IPDS-LR condensation kits with Bruker Detection System, 400 Manning Road, Billerica, Massachusetts 01821.Bruker Detection System is the sole manufacturer for IPDS-LR. There are no alternates or substitutes with which are adequately networked or able to use. Bruker continues to own all the rights to the IPDS-LR system. Selecting a different chemical detector would lead to unacceptable delays in cost and efforts.The applicable NAICS code is 334519 with a 500-employee size standard.  The PSC is 6665.  This action is be undertaken in accordance with FAR 13.106 (b) Soliciting from a single source, on the basis that the vendor is the only known source capable of meeting the government’s requirements.Interested persons may contact the Contract Specialist regarding this procurement.  The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
