Bids and Proposals ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS BRIDGE REPLACEMENT – BRIDGE 29 The Dearborn County Commissioners will receive bids for the replacement of Dearborn County Bridge No. 29 on Old North Hogan Road over Unnamed Tributary to North Hogan Creek and the associated roadway realignment and construction, all in accordance with the Contract Documents and Specifications. Dearborn County Bridge No. 29 on Old North Hogan Road over Unnamed Tributary to North Hogan Creek in Dearborn County, Indiana. Bids will be received until 10:00 AM, prevailing time, on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17, 202 2, at the Dearborn County Engineer‘s Office, 165 Mary Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025. Bids received after that time will be returned unopened. Bids will be publicly opened and read at THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17, 2022 at 10:10 AM, prevailing time, at the Dearborn County Government Center, 3 rdFloor Multipurpose Room, 165 Mary Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana 47025. AMat the Dearborn County Commissioners meeting. THIS PROJECT CONSISTS OF THE REALIGNMENT OF A PORTION OF OLD NORTH HOGAN ROAD AND SHORT RIDGE ROAD AND THE REPLACEMENT OF DEARBORN COUNTY BRIDGE NO. 29. THE WORK INCLUDES THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING TWO SPAN STEEL BEAM BRIDGE ON ABUTMENTS WITH SPANS OF 14.5 FEET AND A WIDTH OF 22 FEET. THE NEW BRIDGE WILL BE A 76 FOOT SINGLE SPAN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE AASHTO TYPE 3 I BEAM BRIDGE ON INTEGRAL END BENTS WITH A 24’ CLEAR ROADWAY WIDTH. THERE WILL BE TS-1 RAILINGS ON THE BRIDGE, APPROACH GUARDRAIL OFF THE BRIDGE AND CONCRETE APPROACH SLABS. THERE WILL BE APPROXIMATELY 650 FEET OF ROADWORK ON OLD NORTH HOGAN ROAD. THE WORK WILL CONSIST OF GRADING, ASPHALT PAVEMENT, SIDE DITCHES, DRIVEWAY REALIGNMENT AND RELOCATING THE ROAD AT THE STREAM. OLD NORTH HOGAN ROAD WILL BE RELOCATED APPROXIMATELY 32 FEET EAST OF THE EXISTING ROAD AT THE BRIDGE. THE RELOCATION PORTION WILL EXTEND APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET SOUTH OF THE BRIDGE AND 150 FEET NORTH OF THE BRIDGE. ON SHORT RIDGE ROAD THERE WILL BE 300 FEET OF ROAD WORK CONSISTING OF GRADING, ASPHALT PAVEMENT, WIDENING THE LANES, SIDE DITCHES AND RELOCATION OF THE INTERSECTION WITH OLD NORTH HOGAN ROAD. THE PROJECT IS LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF OLD NORTH HOGAN ROAD AND SHORT RIDGE ROAD, HOGAN TOWNSHIP, DEARBORN COUNTY, INDIANA. After review and award of a contract, the Owner will provide a "Notice to Proceed" to the Contractor. Contractor will then have 10 working days after said "Notice to Proceed" to commence construction and until SEPTEMBER 30, 2023to achieve substantial completion and an additional 15 days, OCTOBER 15, 2023to achieve final completion. Contractor will be assessed $500.00 a day liquidated damages for any work remaining over and above either of the specified contract completion dates. Payment to be made on a standard monthly claim basis, with 10% retainage, and said retainage may be held up to three months after the successful completion of this contract. There is no retainage reduction for this project. Copies of the Contract Documents are on file for review in the Office of the Owner (DEARBORN COUNTY ENGINEER, 165 Mary Street, Lawrenceburg, IN 47025). The Contract Documents in PDF format are available from the Engineer (DLZ Indiana, LLC, Adam Hester, P.E., ahester@dlz.com, 317-532-8227) for a non-refundable advance fee of $100.00 per set. Printed copies of the Contract Documents are available for a non-refundable fee of $100.00 per set at: DLZ Indiana, LLC, 138 N. Delaware Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46204. Partial sets will not be available. Requests for bid documents shall be made in writing to ahester@dlz.com. Include specific project request, complete company info, address, phone numbers, and 2 email addresses for plan distribution. Only those plan holders registered through the Engineer will be notified of addenda. Bidders must be pre-qualified with INDOT for work type D(a) Highway or Bridge over Water . There is no pre-bid conference scheduled for this project. Bids must be submitted on the forms in the Contract Documents and other conditions therein described must be met. Each bid must be enclosed in a sealed envelope, clearly marked DEARBORN COUNTY BRIDGE 29on the face of the envelope and display the name and address of the bidder. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Check in a sum equal to 5% of the amount of the bid unless otherwise specified, and a completed Non-Collusion Affidavit. Bid prices must be firm for a period of ninety (90) days from the bid opening date. Should a successful bidder withdraw his bid, or fail to execute a satisfactory contract within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance of his bid, the owner may declare the Bid Security forfeited as liquidated damages, not as penalty. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance and Labor and Materials Payment Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum with an approved surety company. Said bond shall remain in full force and effect for a period of one (1) year
