Description: STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES REAL ESTATE SERVICES DIVISION PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT BRANCH ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS REKEYING AND ELECTRONIC ACCESS CONTROL UPGRADES DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES PORTERVILLE DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER PORTERVILLE, TULARE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA PROJECT NUMBER: 142582 Project comprises labor, material and services necessary for: Modernize the existing personal alarm system in place at the Porterville Developmental Center.  Demolition of existing personal alarm system and installation of new personal alarm system. License required to bid the project: B Refer to Document 00 22 00, Supplementary Instructions to Bidders, Subparagraph 2.1.3, regarding performance of work of a Fire Protection specialty contractor license

classification C-16 and Subparagraph 2.1.4, regarding performance of work of a Low Voltage and Electrical specialty contractor license classification C-7 and C-10. Successful bidder shall furnish payment and performance bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract price. Prospective bidders must attend the mandatory pre bid site inspection tour on October 2, 2019 at 10:00 A.M., at which time representatives of the State and prospective bidders shall meet at Porterville Development Center, Plant Operations Modular conference room, located at 26501 Avenue 140, Porterville, Tulare County, CA. The State¿s requirements for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation will be presented along with other contract requirements. The DVBE participation requirement for this project is 3%.  Bidders are required to be in attendance for the entirety of the pre-bid site inspection and sign out at the conclusion.  Security Clearance:  For entrance into the secured construction site, bidders are required to provide (1) full name, (2) telephone number, (3) Social Security Number, (4) photo identification or California Driver¿s License, and (5) date of birth.  Cell phones, cameras and recording devices will not be allowed.  See Document 01 35 55 Developmental Center Project Procedures, for additional requirements.  Bidders are directed to the recommendation to contact Don Tarnasky, Project Director at (916) 375-4322 no later than 4:00 PM, September 27, 2019, and provide (1) full name, (2) company name, and (3) telephone number prior to the site visit.
