Intent to award a sole-source Abbott Laboratories Inc.,

This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source and is not a request for competitive proposals. The authority for this sole-source procurement is FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii). Regional Health Contracting Office-Central intends to issue a sole-source, firm-fixed price award to Abbott Laboratories Inc., 100 Abbott Park Road, Buffalo Grove, IL, 60089 to upgrade two current electrophysiology (EP) monitoring systems in San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) Electophysiology (EP) laboratories.IAW FAR 13.501(a)(1)(ii). The justification for the sole source is due to Abbott Laboratories Inc. being the manufacturer and sole authorized distributor that can provide the required electrophysiology (EP) monitoring systems used in the Cardiovascular Procedures Services Department. Therefore, no other company can provide and support these products without written authorization, agreement, and / or consent from Abbott Laboratories Inc.This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, the Government shall consider all responses received by August 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. CST. All interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill the requirement. Regional Health Contracting Office-Central will not be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice.
