impact for our community.THE ROLE Reporting directly to the Director of Public Works, the City Engineer is responsible for all aspects of planning and implementation for capital improvement projects in the City. This may include subdivision development and redevelopment, stormwater management, and the planning and design of water and sewer utilities, streets, sidewalks, drainage, lighting, landscaping, pedestrian rights-of-way, parks, marina, and various building improvements. Manages and prepares plans, specifications, and estimates for City capital improvement projects.Assists in the creation of developer agreements and enforces the provisions of said agreements; Creates requests for proposals (RFP) for engineering services, selects consultants, and oversees/manages all aspects of project implementation.Manages the City’s GIS system and oversees routine updating of maps and utility records.Ensures compliance of stormwater management plans with City ordinance and state administrative code, the City’s MS4 stormwater permit, and annual report; Conducts regular inspections and reviews/correct deficiencies of all public and privately-owned stormwater facilities.Manages the City’s sanitary sewer system and ensures compliance with CMOM directives to include the identification and elimination of I/I sources; Updates CMOM to meet or exceed best practices for maintenance of the collection system.Serves as a member of the Plan Commission, Traffic Safety Committee, and Design Review Board; Attends public meetings and prepares reports, graphics, presentations, and other information as required.QUALIFICATIONS What does it take to succeed in this role? We’re looking for a motivated individual with strong project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You should also have: Bachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringFive (5) or more years of relevant experience Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Wisconsin, or ability to obtain within one (1) yearValid Wisconsin driver’s licenseWHAT WE HAVE TO OFFERThe City of Port Washington offers an excellent benefits package, including inclusion in the state WRS pension plan, and ample opportunities for professional development.
