Post InformationPosted At:Fri, Mar 8, 2024 3:03 PMSealed Bid Process:NoPrivate Bid:NoOverviewSummaryPierce County (hereafter known as the 'County') seeks to acquire the services of a contractor to evaluate and make recommendations to the County’s procurement and contract approval process for contracts administered by the Human Services Department.This project is under the guidance of County Council staff and a workgroup consisting of a representative from three organizations that contract with Pierce County, a representative from the County Finance Department, and a representative from the County Human Services Department.BackgroundThe County Council is the policy-making body of Pierce County and consists of seven elected members. The County Executive, who is also independently elected, serves as chief executive officer.The County follows state and federal laws and requirements of funding sources. Statutory procurement and contract requirements depend on the type of contract, dollar value, the nature of services obtained, and the source of funds. For provider contracts through the Human Services Department, this would include Request for Proposals (RFP), based on price and qualifications. RFPs are evaluated in a standard process and contracts are enacted through a client services agreement.
