SummaryVTA seeks proposals (each, a “Proposal”) from qualified firms (each, a “Proposer”) to provide and implement a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) bus yard management system to support its daily operations related to vehicle location tracking, vehicle information and status detail, and daily dispatching and operational support. The proposed system must be designed and architected to operate seamlessly with required data interfaces and meet the requirements of VTA. Currently, VTA does not have a yard management system in place for buses. Vehicle location is tracked manually and recorded on paper throughout the operational dayIn addition, VTA is soliciting an optional rail yard management system to support light rail service. VTA’s intent is to award a contract for the bus system. VTA may, at its option, award a contract for the rail system. Proposers

are required to submit a proposal for the bus system, but may or may not propose a rail system as an option. For rail, VTA is in the final design stages of implementing a yard management system deploying Trapeze’s RFind 2.0 system. VTA’s decision on whether to award a contract for the rail yard management system will depend on the quality of rail yard management system proposal elements and VTA’s overall satisfaction with the RFind 2.0 system at the time of Proposal reviews.2.
