A winning bidder must be able to screen all current and new cases to provide documentation and evidence to support on going applications. The contractor shall review all 18 and 19 year olds to determine if they may meet the adult standard for SSI or SSA. The contractor is also required to pursue reconsideration of denials and administrative appeals in meritorious claims to document the childs continued benefits.The current DCFS population remains at approximately 17,000 children. Approximately 500 children enter the Departments care each month. The screening process should prioritize Title IV-E ineligible individuals and those approaching emancipation. As the Department focuses on permanency, the key to a successful vendor is the ability to generate quality applications quickly. Complete a sufficient number of initial applications, reconsiderations, appeals, a continuing determination reviews CDR to result in a minimum of 650 approval/continuances during EACH fiscal year.
