The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to a single source, University of Virginia (UVA), Charlottesville, Virginia for the Accelerated Master’s Degree Program in Systems Engineering (SE), in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)1(i) – Soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. This purchase order is required to provide DCMA employees with a 12 month Accelerated Master’s degree in SE to federal participants nominated by DCMA. This program is designed to provide federal employees with the knowledge, skills, and experience to lead the engineering development of modern complex systems. These include the ability to integrate multidisciplinary system activities across a wide range of federal programs, and exposure to the broad technical literacy necessary to make the system-level tradeoffs between performance, cost, and schedule.  A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between DCMA and
the MITRE Corporation, a not for profit organization was established in 2018 to furnish a SE Fellowship Program for Federal Employees focused on a technical leadership experience in systems engineering for the benefit of the DCMA engineering community.   MITRE has partnered with UVA to provide the 12 month Accelerated SE degree and no other vendor is authorized to provide the 12 month accelerated degree program, and no other product will suffice under the existing MOU. The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order to a single source, University of Virginia (UVA), Charlottesville, Virginia for the Accelerated Master’s Degree Program in Systems Engineering (SE), in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)1(i) – Soliciting from a single source for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold.
