The parks maintenance work comprises general cleaning and horticultural maintenance; including, but not limited to use of sidewalk scrubbers, pressure washing, mowing, edging, turf trimming, shrub trimming, fertilizing, litter/trash collection, graffiti abatement, weed control, minor tree work, operation of manual and automatic irrigation systems, turf aeration, disposal of the

material collected, janitorial services, play equipment inspection; emptying trash receptacles and disposal, cleaning restrooms and restocking with supplies, washing site furnishings and structures such as tables, trash receptacles and benches, clean exterior of service electrical building and such tasks that are described below. Contractor is expected to provide the highest level of quality in maintenance compatible with standard horticultural practices and up-to-date techniques accepted by the industry. Various common repairs or replacements will include irrigation repairs, emergency call outs and the furnishings and replacement of dead shrubs and trees. The City of Vancouver’s Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department (PRCSD) will oversee professional landscape maintenance contractors charged with maintaining the Vancouver Waterfront Park as a safe, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing park that enhance and improve the quality of life in the City of Vancouver. The standards outlined in the General Conditions further describe the scope of services and responsibilities required of the Contractor.
