PURPOSE OF THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The purpose of the Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit sealed proposals to establish a contract through competitive negotiations for the procurement of state-wide Park and Ride Bus Service to be operated in an accessible, safe, reliable, professional, cost- and time-efficient manner. B. BACKGROUND INFORMATION Each weekday The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) Park and Ride provides 107 bus runs and serves 46 stops with connections to seven other public transit agencies and numerous private and non-profit transportation providers. Since its inception in 2003, NMDOT Park and Ride has operated without a serious injury or fatality. This procurement seeks to continue the NMDOT Park and Ride program. C. SCOPE OF PROCUREMENT The term of this agreement shall be for five (5) years from date of award with an option to extend for up to three (3) additional years, on a year-by-year basis, and, by mutual agreement of all parties and approval of the New Mexico State Purchasing Agent, at the same price, terms and conditions.
