VTrans is seeking a historic preservation (HP) / architectural historian consultant(s) to assist VTrans Environmental Section historic preservation staff in conducting historic preservation studies to comply with the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (54 USC 306108), the Vermont Historic Preservation Act (22 V.S.A. 14), and Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act of 1966 (49 U.S.C. & 303). The National Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) is the federal agency that monitors and advises FHWA and other federal agencies on the enforcement of Section 106 involving any federal undertaking. The Vermont Division for Historic Preservation (DHP) is the state agency that is responsible for managing cultural resources at the state level under Title 22 V.S.A. Chapter 14 and Act 250.
