Assistant Utility Director/Engineer Grafton, Wisconsin The Village of Grafton, a full service community (+/-12,000 pop.), is seeking an energetic and dynamic professional to fill the role of Assistant Utility Director/Engineer for its Water and Wastewater Utility.   The ideal candidate will oversee various capital projects, engage in a wide array of engineering tasks and manage an enthusiastic team of employees.  Exceptional communication skills are a must for this position.  A combination of education, training and professional experience will be considered in order to best meet the needs for this position. The Utility’s staff is comprised of (2) Coordinators, (1) Maintenance Operator, and (6) Utility Operators.  The Utility maintains an activated sludge waste water treatment plant with approximately 1.50 mgd of influent, 12 sanitary sewer lift stations, 6 wells, 3 water towers, approximately 60 miles of sanitary sewer and 70 miles of water mains.  The Village was recently re-issued

a new WPDES permit which includes an Adaptive Management plan for compliance.  This position also is responsible for creating and overseeing future improvements and budgets, engineering contracts, and regulatory compliance.  The Village of Grafton is experiencing significant residential growth and is finalizing a major upgrade to its Treatment Plant which presents both opportunities and challenges for this position. The Village of Grafton offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.  Starting salary is dependent on qualifications within the pay range of $75,715 to $102,384.
