Sealed bids, which must be clearly marked “Parks and Recreation Hippach Field Roof Replacement Bid”, must be received at the Town Office, 153 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington, ME 04938, no later than 12:15 P.M. on Wednesday, April 17th. Bids will be opened and read aloud publicly in the Municipal Building Conference Room, and tentative bid award will be made at that time. Formal bid award will be made by the Board of Selectmen on Tuesday, April 23rd. Before submitting a proposal, all bidders are advised to carefully examine the specifications and

fully inform themselves as to the existing conditions and limitations under which the work will be performed. Failure to do so will not release a successful bidder from the contract documents and/or from completing the contemplated work for the consideration set forth in the bid. Bidders may be required to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Town that they have adequate personnel, equipment and experience to perform the services required by the specifications and shall furnish such information to the Town promptly upon request. The successful bidder will be required to provide a certificate of insurance before the contract will be signed. Workers’ Compensation and General Liability insurance shall be maintained throughout the term of the contract and shall be written with a qualified insurance carrier having an A.M. Best B+ rating or better for the past year. The amount of general liability insurance shall be not less than $400,000 each occurrence and not less than $1,000,000 aggregate. Foster, CPRP Director of Parks and Recreation Town of Farmington, Me Enclosures: Specification Sheet/Bid Form mailto:farmingtonrec@farmington-maine.org 3 Town of Farmington Recreation Department 127 Middle St, Farmington, ME 04938 email farmingtonrec@farmington-maine.org p (207) 778-3464 f (207) 778-3444 Specification Sheet/Bid Form Farmington Parks and Recreation Department Hippach Field Roof Replacement Bid Minimum Specifications: • Replacement of shingle roofing for the Maintenance Building, Grandstand, Little League Field Dugouts, Major League Dugouts, and Covered Picnic Tables at Hippach Field in Farmington • State how many years the shingle roofing manufacturer warranties the material • State how many years the contractors “no leak” warranty is • Shingles should be equivalent to or better than IKO Cambridge Architectural shingles • Remove and dispose of all old roofing materials on each entire structure • Install Ice and Water shield on all roof edges and valleys and synthetic paper on remaining roof surfaces • Shingle Color will be selected after bid selection, but colors should include gray/charcoal offerings. • Install new 8” drip edge to all roof edges, as well as new pipe boots, wall flashing, and ridge vents as needed for the roofs • Clean and secure the work area at the end of each day (public park) • Worksite should be secured by 4 p.m. each day to prepare for evening baseball games • Flat rates or hourly labor rates for decking and roofing repairs must also be submitted for consideration (approval will be needed from town before any repairs) • Project should be completed by June 14th or sooner.
