Exterior Post and Panel Interpretive Signage South...

The County of Mercer is seeking a Signage Contractor to renew nine (9) historic interpretive signs in South River Walk Park. The 6.5-acre riverfront park is located at Lamberton and Lalor streets over the N.J. Route 29 tunnel. The park was given by the State of New Jersey to the County of Mercer in 2004 upon completion of the tunnel. At the time of the park’s opening, nine (9) National Park Service-style, low-profile, single-panel cantilevered interpretive signs were placed at various locations in the park. After more than 15 years of service, the signs are in need of renewal. The Contractor will provide new fiberglass embedment panels to replace the deteriorated panels. The County will supply artwork for the replacement graphic panels, which will be provided to the Contractor as print-ready digital Adobe Illustrator files. Existing aluminum bases and frames will be reused. Seven of the existing signs are mounted to the sidewalk deck with base plates and bolts; two are directly embedded into the ground with posts encased in concrete sonotube footers. The Contractor will undertake to repair, strip, clean and repaint the existing bases and frames prior to installing the replacement panels. The Contractor will be responsible for reinstalling the signage at the specified locations. The Contractor shall be responsible for all repairs, removal and reinstallation of concrete-embedded bases, baseplate mounts/bolts and portions of existing brick or concrete walkways.
