No Is the VA staying with hand control charging or wanting to go to continuous charge? hand control charging Does the VA want integrated scales or lifts without scales? without scales According to the VA Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Design Criteria handbook (August 1, 2021), and following the direction of VISNs across the country, traverse
(room-covering systems, with or without tracks into the bathroom) are the preferred design, with a minimum weight capacity of 550 lbs. (section 2.8.2.3 VA EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION OVERHEAD RAIL SYSTEM). Is there a specific reason this facility requires a straight rail system, "which are of limited assistance in performing many high-risk patient handling tasks" (VA Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Design Criteria handbook section 2.8.2-1) and a restrictive weight capacity? Successful Offeror/Vendor/Contractor must provide a system that complies with the attached ceiling lift construction specification and Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Design Criteria: ceiling lift construction spec,  SPHM design criteria This statement of work / project, the way it is designed, depending on what manufacturer we are quoting, we would need to quote a different number of CLINS in the B.1 PRICE/COST SCHEDULE, therefore pricing totals would be very different / varying, amongst bidders. Will this be addressed/re-written? No Is this bid for a complete installation including all new rails? If your equipment is not what we already have, then yes Would the VA please split this solicitation due to the products being independently sold of each other. No; per our guidance we must use the lift manufacturer slings designed for their product Are drawings and/or architectural plans available? The SOW states drawings were posted with the announcement, but we do not find them in SAM. ceiling lift construction spec,  SPHM design criteria Are all of the existing track systems set up to be compatible with continuous charge lifts? No Regarding the rooms noted The current lifts are new and will not reach the end of life for 10 years. And will not be changed if the current manufacturer is used .  Does this mean every manufacturer other than Liko has to install a new lift? Yes; because we want standardization. Several of the rooms are noted with comments such as Need 2 steel supports , Need 4 steel supports . Are these comments referring to above ceiling attachment to structure? Successful Offeror/Vendor/Contractor must provide a system that complies with the attached ceiling lift construction specification and Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Design Criteria: ceiling lift construction spec,  SPHM design criteria
